About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environment Manager to join our team at British Airways. As a key member of our logistics and cargo organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision, availability, and reliability of our non-production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional support teams to ensure non-production environments are fit for purpose for all production support, development, and testing teams.
  • Lead performance reviews with key stakeholder groups to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish and manage incident, problem, and change control processes to ensure stability of environments.
  • Conduct internal functional technology satisfaction surveys and drive continual improvement across the team.
  • Accountable for the definition and implementation of our environment strategy, ensuring it meets the needs of our organization.
  • Responsible for the successful provision of environment components in line with Architecture and Cyber Security standards.
  • Manage the scheduling of all change activity into environments, ensuring timely and accurate provision of data to project teams.
  • Accountable for the availability and reliability of non-production environments to pre-agreed service levels, providing reporting on KPIs.
  • Responsible for the resolution of all environmental issues and provision of root cause analysis along with problem management for recurring failures.
  • Manage third-party resources to pre-agreed performance levels, ensuring new technology solutions introduced into production have associated non-production SLAs built into contracts.
  • Implement automation strategies to accelerate speed of environment provision, data refreshes, and validation.
  • Manage the cost of provision and use of non-production environments, devising appropriate cost models and demonstrating cost reduction activities to deliver maximum value to our organization.
Requirements
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams both internal and external within a matrix management environment.
  • Excellent planning and prioritization capabilities.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure in a changing environment.
  • Strong risk management skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management (internal and external) and building positive working relationships.
  • Experience in ITIL processes and Change Management in an Agile environment.
  • Experience working in the Logistics, Freight, Courier industry.
