We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Designer to join our award-winning Art department at Michael Joseph. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing captivating book covers for our non-fiction titles, including cookery, self-help, fashion, and gift books.
Key Responsibilities- Designing book covers that showcase the essence of each title
- Collaborating with the publishing teams to ensure covers meet their vision
- Working closely with colleagues in Production, Editorial, Sales, and Marketing to ensure seamless project execution
- Attending photoshoots and providing art direction
- Selecting images for layout and ensuring high-quality visual content
We are looking for someone with a strong background in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as a deep understanding of how an illustrated book is put together. You should be confident in your ability to pair fonts with flair and have a keen eye for detail. Additionally, you should be able to work independently and as part of a team, liaising with external suppliers, freelancers, photographers, and illustrators.
