We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our Seafloor Ecosystems team at ECO Magazine. As a Megafaunal Ecology Researcher, you will be responsible for leading research into the environmental impacts of deep-sea mining and the biological response and recovery to disturbance.
Our team is focused on improving our understanding of the complex interactions between the seafloor ecosystem and human activities. You will work closely with our experienced team to develop and implement research projects, collecting and analyzing data to inform our scientific publications.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing research projects to investigate the impacts of deep-sea mining on megafaunal ecosystems
- Collecting and analyzing data from seafloor images to inform our scientific publications
- Collaborating with our team to develop and implement research projects

About YouWe are looking for a researcher with a strong background in marine ecology, ideally with experience in investigating seafloor ecosystems in the deep ocean. You will have a record of internationally peer-reviewed publications and experience in computer programming in R and use of GIS.
As a member of our team, you will be expected to work collaboratively with our experienced researchers and contribute to the development of our research projects. You will also be responsible for communicating your research findings through scientific publications and presentations.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including 30 days annual leave, plus 3.5 local closure days and 8 public bank holidays. We also offer a contributory Group Personal Pension Plan and a hybrid working approach, allowing you to work from home up to 2 days per week.
