SAUR UK is a leading provider of wastewater treatment services in Scotland.

We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Equipment Specialist to join our team at the Glasgow site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing planned and corrective mechanical maintenance tasks to ensure the reliable operation of plant equipment.

This role involves identifying faults, determining root causes, rectifying defects, and resolving breakdowns during emergencies.

Collaboration with maintenance, operations, and process departments is essential for success in this position.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Implementing scheduled planned maintenance by addressing work orders generated through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Reporting abnormal equipment behavior or critical process situations.
  • Installing and repairing various types of industrial equipment and components.
  • Responding to equipment failures/breakdowns and implementing necessary corrective measures.
  • Suggesting enhancements to plant safety, reliability, and overall efficiency.
  • Using investigative techniques to troubleshoot problems and determine root causes effectively.

To excel in this role, the Industrial Equipment Specialist should possess:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A thorough understanding of industrial mechanical equipment.
  • A proficient understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • The ability to interpret mechanical and process schematics.
  • A strong understanding of safe work systems, including risk assessment, method statements, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Proficiency in operating handheld computerized equipment (PDA).
  • Knowledge of heavy industry operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. The core working week is 37 hours from Monday to Friday, with reasonable flexibility offered to accommodate personal obligations.

Ongoing training and development is supported by SAUR UK, and a fixed working location is provided with great transport links and onsite parking.
