Biomedical Scientist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our Point of Care Testing (POCT) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support services to our clinical staff, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our POCT equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine biomedical investigations and participate in the scientific and technical activities of the POCT section.
- Maintain high professional standards and conform to Health and Safety regulations.
- Utilize the laboratory LIMS, Q-Pulse quality monitoring system, and other application software according to authorized protocols.
- Communicate efficiently, courteously, and with clarity at all times, referring enquiries to senior staff where appropriate.
- Use consumables and equipment in accordance with POCT policy and standard operating procedures (SOP) and be responsible for stock control audits and recording.
- Report all incidents and adverse events to senior staff and enter the information in the CAPA module of Q-pulse in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate ongoing competency against training plans and participate positively in CPD (continuous professional development) activities.
Person Specification
Essential
- A minimum of a Foundation degree with 4 GCSEs (including Maths and English) at Grade A-C.
- Good degree of accuracy, numeracy, and interpretive skills.
Desirable
- Biomedical Science degree.
