About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our team at Ye Olde Inn, a thriving community pub in Edinburgh. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the pub, maintaining high standards of customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of 20 staff members, ensuring excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere for regulars and new visitors alike.
  • Oversee events, including live sports, live music, and private functions, ensuring seamless execution and excellent customer experience.
  • Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships for both bar and kitchen, ensuring efficient operations and cost control.
  • Ensure the pub meets health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and exceptional cleanliness standards.
  • Collaborate closely with our departing manager to ensure a smooth handover and maintain continuity in management style and customer experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing busy pub environments, with a solid background in hospitality management.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team and maintain a positive, motivated workplace.
  • Strong event management skills, with confidence in organising and running a variety of events.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service and building lasting relationships with our customers.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities across different areas of the pub.
  • Ability to address challenges and implement solutions quickly and effectively.
