Senior Python Engineer

Citi is seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Engineer to join our Transaction Monitoring technology team. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and implement data-centric applications and distributed data pipelines in Python to detect potential market abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex data pipelines and applications in Python to support transaction monitoring.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust algorithms and data integrations.
  • Drive the architectural evolution of our 1LOD Transaction Monitoring systems, focusing on hosting, scheduling, and inter-dependency of data pipelines and services.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster their technical growth.
  • Build ETL layers to integrate emerging data sources and champion high development standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience designing and implementing Python-based data pipelines and complex applications.
  • Expertise with Big Data technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing and relational/NoSQL databases.
  • Experience creating pipelines supporting ML/statistical algorithms and working with data scientists.
  • Familiarity with message queues and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and log aggregation tools.
