We are delighted to partner with an award-winning Fintech company based in Cambridge to find a talented Junior Software Engineer from a PHP background.
About the CompanyThe client is a leader in banking and trading infrastructure, serving clients globally across various locations.
Job OverviewAs a Junior Software Engineer, you will work with experienced professionals to develop tools for system maintenance and monitoring within the Market Data Team.
Key Responsibilities- Developing software tools for system maintenance and monitoring
- Collaborating with experienced professionals to deliver high-quality results
- Working with large datasets and previous experience with PHP and MySQL
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software development
- 1-2 years' experience in a related role or through equivalent collaborative projects
- Previous work experience with PHP and MySQL, as well as large datasets
- Working knowledge of at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js)
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming design, Microservices, API design, and continuous refactoring and testing
- Experience with a modern web framework (e.g., Symfony, Laravel, Django)
- Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, or comparable scientific discipline
