Senior Safeguarding and Player Welfare Manager

At Hoop Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safeguarding and Player Welfare Manager to join our team. This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and practices, as well as the ability to oversee the welfare of elite players.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the implementation of the organisation's Safeguarding Strategy in accordance with key performance indicators.
  • Develop organisational awareness of safeguarding via training and development programmes.
  • Support safer recruitment & disciplinary processes relating to children or adults at risk to ensure operations are compliant and defensible.
  • Attend 'multi-disciplinary meetings' and participate in/lead working groups, as required.
  • Development and updating of policies, practices and procedures.
  • Embed a safeguarding culture within the organisation.
  • Lead on consultation with key stakeholders, including ensuring the voice of the child is heard across the organisation.
  • Manage accurate safeguarding & wellbeing record keeping processes at the organisation.
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on safeguarding concerns and cases.

Requirements:

  • Experience in front-line safeguarding, in either sport, social work, education, policing or medical.
  • Expert knowledge of the safeguarding legislation and safe working practices.
  • Knowledge of local and national agencies that provide support for children and adults at risk.
  • Proven work experience as a team leader.
  • Experience of advising colleagues on applying safeguarding principles to wider business functions.
