We are looking for an Engineering/Welding Lecturer to join our team at SMB College Group. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver across the full range of the department's provision, including full-time, part-time, and commercial courses. A passion for the engineering sector and innovation is essential, as well as the ability to bring new ideas and the latest industrial knowledge to the directorate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses, with a focus on Welding theory and practical applications. They will possess excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject area and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and will be required to obtain a relevant teaching qualification if they do not already possess one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery and development of courses
  • Planning and use of teaching and learning techniques
  • Development of materials and resources
  • Assessment and evaluation of student progress
  • Development of departmental policy and procedures

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in Engineering or Welding
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Welding theory and practical applications
  • Ability to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques
  • Passion for the engineering sector and innovation
  • Ability to bring new ideas and the latest industrial knowledge to the directorate
  • Relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent)
