Safety and Security

  • Provide a friendly and professional welcome to residents, visitors, and staff, ensuring the building is safe, secure, quiet, and welcoming.
  • Maximise the wellbeing of residents and visitors by adhering to health and safety protocols and house rules within tenancy agreements.
  • Assess and monitor risks presented by residents to ensure they can keep themselves safe and continue their development.
  • Record incidents and accidents and share them with the wider team, manager, and central safeguarding team as necessary.

Engagement with Residents

  • Welcome residents home and provide informal support to help them articulate their aspirations and acquire the skills needed for independent and fulfilling lives.
  • Ensure residents' views, aspirations, concerns, and ideas are sought to enable them to play an active role in influencing services.
  • Proactively promote services and encourage residents to engage with them.
  • Support evening groupwork activities to provide tailored solutions for residents' needs, wishes, and aspirations.

Administration and Housekeeping

  • Undertake tasks as directed, including data input, assessments, reviews, case notes, and maintenance requests.
  • Complete health and safety checks, record estate inspections, and room checks.
  • Add maintenance requests to the property services system.

General

  • Work as part of a team on a four on four off shift pattern, ensuring young people have non-judgemental support at night, and take responsibility for personal safety during lone working.
  • Contribute to a great working environment with a calm and assertive manner, handling potentially difficult situations.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision for leading psychologically informed practice.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Guildford Foyer team as a Housing Night Worker. This role requires a passion for supporting young people and a desire to make a positive impact in their lives.

This is a dynamic and varied role, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse group of young people and contribute to a supportive team environment.

About You

We are seeking an individual with experience in customer-facing environments, able to remain calm and solution-focused when dealing with challenging behaviour. A basic understanding of the support needs of young people and/or adults at risk is essential.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.
  • Basic understanding of the support needs of young people and/or adults at risk.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing for record-keeping.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to work lone, work autonomously, and use own initiative, as well as being part of a team.
  • IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office 365 and client management systems.
