Clinical Leader in Acute Psychiatry

Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on Samphire Ward, providing consultant input to and responsibility for the 16-bedded inpatients unit for the Norfolk West locality.
This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of £120,000 per annum, reflecting the trust's commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. In addition to a generous relocation package of up to £12,000, you will also benefit from access to a £20,000 professional development budget, dedicated SPA time, and paid study leave.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, developing service improvements, and contributing to the overall success of our acute inpatient service. The role requires a strong background in mental health, with experience in relevant clinical areas and a proven track record of effective team working, leadership, and research. You must also hold a clear understanding of Clinical Governance and demonstrate a commitment to open review of practice.

Main Responsibilities:
- Providing consultant input to and responsibility for the 16-bedded inpatients unit for the Norfolk West locality
- Developing service improvements and contributing to the overall success of our acute inpatient service
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and outcomes
Requirements:
- Entry on the GMC Register
- Approved clinician status
- Section 12(2) Approval under the Mental Health Act
- Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
- 3 years or equivalent medical experience
- 6 months experience in relevant clinical area
- Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment + management of complex mental illness
