About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planning Officer to join our Development Management team at Lambeth Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of planners and validation officers, negotiating the best possible development outcomes, and managing a high-performing service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of planners and validation officers in negotiating development outcomes
- Manage a high-performing service, ensuring reports and documents are of a high standard
- Present applications to the Planning Applications Committee
- Deputise for the Area Team Manager as required
Requirements:
- Significant experience and knowledge of Development Management, ideally in a busy metropolitan area
- Effective management and leadership skills, with the ability to build team capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with developers, investors, partners, and citizens
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide advice to Councillors, senior officers, and the public
