Coxswain-Afloat Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Coxswain-Afloat Mechanic. This is a seagoing command role that requires the ability to operate lifeboats and provide assurance to the Area Operations Manager that the crew, lifeboat, and equipment are available at all times while on station.

• Carry out duties at lifeboat stations to maintain operational availability
• Provide assurance to the Area Operations Manager that the crew, lifeboat, and equipment are available at all times while on station
• Deploy to any station across the region and command lifeboats on passage and trials as required
• Train to the required level of competence to operate as an afloat mechanic

• Minimum of a competent Tier 2 ALB crew plan, trainee ILB Helm plan, or external maritime experience
• Ability to motivate and lead others and maximise their potential
• Resilience and leadership skills
• Ability to handle a boat in adverse sea conditions

• Salary starting from £34,253 (Grade E)
