Zitron Australia Pty Ltd, a leading ventilation fan manufacturing company, is seeking a talented Engineering Draftsperson to join their team in Perth. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical and structural engineering, as well as proficiency in CAD software such as Autocad and Inventor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs for products being fabricated in-house or subcontracted. They will also initiate the process of manufacturing BOM creation in the company's ERP and prepare project drawings, including layouts and interface drawings with other disciplines.

The role requires the ability to integrate 2D and 3D models from different equipment obtained from various suppliers and sources into the overall tunnel ventilation system using CAD and BIM tools. The candidate will also support the sales team with preliminary drawings for tenders and review drawings and material lists produced by Zitron or other suppliers overseas to identify potential gaps with locally available material or local standard compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed 3D models, drawings, and BOMs for products being fabricated in-house or subcontracted.
  • Initiate the process of manufacturing BOM creation in the company's ERP.
  • Prepare project drawings, including layouts and interface drawings with other disciplines.
  • Integrate 2D and 3D models from different equipment obtained from various suppliers and sources into the overall tunnel ventilation system using CAD and BIM tools.
  • Support the sales team with preliminary drawings for tenders.
  • Review drawings and material lists produced by Zitron or other suppliers overseas to identify potential gaps with locally available material or local standard compliance.
  • Actively collaborate modifying overseas drawings designs and BOMs to close these gaps.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all drawings and revisions.

Requirements:

  • Approximately 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in understanding the basics of mechanical and structural engineering and in applying different Australian and international standards.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as Autocad and Inventor.
  • Familiarity with BIM interfacing systems in infrastructure projects.
  • Capable of working under pressure and in a multicultural environment.
  • Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting or equivalent.
  • Experience within steel fabrication/manufacturing industry including knowledge of material standards and welding symbols in Australia.
  • Knowledge of welding fabrication design principles.
  • Familiarity with quality control process and the need of specific dimensions shown in drawings so the QA/QC can be carried out.
  • Permit to work in Australia.
