Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specialist nursing care to patients treated for breast cancer, with a focus on open access follow-up care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the open access follow-up pathway for patients treated for breast cancer, in collaboration with the advanced nurse practitioner and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to patients with breast cancer, ensuring they receive a high standard of personalized care consistent with the Macmillan Right by You Principles.
  • Provide supportive conversations and holistic needs assessments to patients with breast cancer, at key times in their journey.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans for patients with breast cancer, in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide treatment summaries and health and wellbeing interventions to patients with breast cancer.

Person Specification

  • Current NMC registration
  • Breast cancer training
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to influence current practice and influence change
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences
  • Relevant post-registration experience in breast cancer
  • Proven leadership and management skills
