Job Description

Job Title: Data Warehousing Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Warehousing Specialist to join our team at Qualserv Consulting. As a Data Warehousing Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying ETL solutions using IBM DataStage. Your expertise in data transformation, data cleansing, and data integration will be crucial in ensuring the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop ETL Solutions: Translate business requirements into technical ETL designs, create and review high-level solution designs, and develop, enhance, and maintain ETL code following best practices and standards.
  • Data Transformation and Cleansing: Apply data transformation rules, implement data quality and data cleansing routines, and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources, including databases, flat files, and XML, and handle structured and unstructured data.
  • Problem Solving and Debugging: Identify and resolve ETL job failures, troubleshoot performance issues, and debug and problem-solve issues found during testing and/or production.
  • Project Experience: Involvement in full project life cycles, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance, and working in Agile or Waterfall project environments.
  • Database and SQL Experience: Writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures, working with large datasets, and optimizing queries for performance.

Requirements:

  • IBM DataStage: Understanding of DataStage architecture and components, familiarity with DataStage Designer, Director, and Administrator, and knowledge of DataStage jobs, stages, and data connections.
  • Database Systems: Relational databases (e.g., IBM Db2, Oracle, SQL Server), SQL and PL/SQL programming.
  • ETL Development: Designing, developing, and deploying DataStage jobs, creating complex ETL processes using DataStage and connectors, and performance tuning of DataStage jobs.
  • Hands-on Experience with IBM DataStage: Several years of experience developing ETL solutions using IBM DataStage and experience with different DataStage versions.
