Job Title: Acute Visiting Service Controller

East Lancashire Medical Services Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled individual to fill the role of Acute Visiting Service Controller. This position is a key part of our team, responsible for providing administrative support to our Acute Visiting Service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage referrals into the Acute Visiting Service made by GP Practices.
  • Interact with GP Practices, patients, relatives, carers, and clinicians on the telephone in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Process referrals using the EMIS Web Operating System.
  • Manage incoming referrals and dispatch to visiting crews using EMIS and Webfleet systems.
  • Liaise with GP Practices regarding duplicate/cancelled referrals and missing or incomplete information.
  • Liaise with visiting teams to ensure effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Support and assist colleagues and clinicians with administrative duties.
  • Act as a first point of contact in the absence of a Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Experience and knowledge of patient information systems (e.g., EMIS).
  • Experience in the use of computer systems.
  • Good general office skills.
  • Experience of working in a receptionist/office environment as part of a team.
  • Experience of computer packages.
  • Confidentiality.
Working Hours:

Normal working hours are 9am-3pm, however, the successful applicant must be available to work up to full-time to cover for sickness and annual leave and the occasional late shift 1pm-6pm.
