Toolmaker and Machinist Role

We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our client in their Reading site. As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing moulding tools, as well as manufacturing and fitting new injection mould tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and repair moulding tools to ensure they are ready for use when required.
  2. Manufacture and fit new injection mould tools to a high standard.
  3. Use manual milling machines, lathes, cylindrical grinders, manual and CNC spark eroders to perform tasks.
  4. Ensure that the toolroom equipment is operated in accordance with operating procedures and report any faults immediately.
  5. Assist the Maintenance Department as required.
  6. Ensure compliance with health and safety rules and regulations.
  7. Participate in and facilitate continuous improvements to tooling and production methods.
  8. Maintain and update relevant documentation.
  9. Work as part of a team to ensure set targets for delivery, quality, and efficiency are met.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in a similar injection moulding toolmaker role.
  2. Multi-cavity mould tool experience.
  3. Progression press tool knowledge.
  4. Detailed working knowledge of the assembly of new high-quality mould tools.
  5. Use of surface grinding machines.
  6. Toolroom inspection equipment and the ability to read and interpret highly technical engineering drawings.
