About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Tarmac's Mountsorrel Quarry in Quorn, Leicestershire. As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs, and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant-associated areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Respond to plant breakdowns and repair equipment in a timely and safe manner, minimizing downtime.
  • Continuously improve plant performance while maintaining safety, maintenance, and asset reliability.
  • Contribute to the development of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
  • Utilize documents and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines for safe and efficient maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
  • Essential experience in fabricating and welding.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Level 3 Apprentice training or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with TPM methodology and Continuous Improvement.
  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices.
  • Knowledgeable in Predictive Maintenance and experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics, and National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications.
