Audit and Accounts Senior Opportunity

Brook Street Recruitment is working with a leading client in Belfast to recruit a new full-time and permanent Audit and Accounts Senior to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist partners and managers in providing client-focused and commercially aware services in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Involve in planning, supervising, and carrying out full-end-to-end audits.
  • Lead audits, including supervising and delegating work to trainees, and assisting them with technical queries on site.
  • Deliver complete audit files for review.
  • Attend initial planning meetings and audit close-down meetings with clients.
  • Closely liaise with clients, audit teams, and audit partners.
  • Deliver work carried out under primary accounting frameworks, mainly FRS102.
  • Prepare and review annual statutory accounts and corporation tax services.
  • Motivate and encourage the team.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards, rules, and requirements.
  • Deal directly with clients in person and on the phone, building strong relationships.
  • Identify and understand client needs, providing initial solutions to client challenges, and communicating these needs to managers/partners.
  • Achieve annual chargeable hours targets.
  • Maintain annual training requirements and identify own training needs.
Requirements:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • At least 2 years of auditing experience, including experience leading audits.
  • Competent technical knowledge of UK accounting (mainly FRS102) and auditing standards.
  • Strong IT skills, experience of using audit and accounts software, and proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organisational skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work, and time management.
