About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our team at Metroline. As a key member of our engineering function, you will be responsible for ensuring the exceptional maintenance of our vehicles to meet the high standards set by Metroline, TfGM, and DVSA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and control the engineering budget to ensure all operations are conducted within the financial parameters set by the company.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for the procurement, maintenance, and repair of plant and equipment.
- Prepare and present regular reports on vehicle availability, maintenance performance, budget adherence, and H,S&E metrics.
- Ensure all maintenance work is documented accurately and in compliance with legal and company requirements.
- Lead a team of staff including Workshop Managers, skilled and semi-skilled technicians, coachmakers, electricians, cleaners/shunters, clerks, stores personnel, and contractors.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize vehicle efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for all types of vehicles operated by the garage.
- Bus bodywork repair/maintenance experience is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage a team.
- Flexibility to adjust to ever-changing industry demands and resilience to working under pressure.
