Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking routine servicing works, remedial works, and repairs on commercial gas systems, including installation, testing, and commissioning. They will also be required to diagnose and repair faulty boilers, as well as replace parts as needed. Additionally, they will be expected to accurately complete all paperwork in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of commercial gas boilers, cylinder replacements, and mechanical equipment on various commercial sites
  • Testing and commissioning of heating systems
  • Diagnostics and repair of faulty boilers
  • Repairing or replacing plant equipment, such as pumps, pipe work, tanks, actuators, and valves
  • Working with internal job management systems for planning and scheduling of works
  • Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across the portfolio of clients
  • Servicing and replacing parts as required
  • Accurate completion of paperwork in connection with company policies, procedures, and legislation

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications (Non-Domestic Air Heating Equipment, Overhead Plaque & Tube Converters, Direct Fired Appliances, Gas Installation Pipework, First Fix Commercial Pipework, Pipework Testing and Purging, Non-Domestic Testing and Purging up to and over 1m3, Non-Domestic Hot Water Boilers, Indirect Fired Heating Appliances)
  • Recognised Mechanical / Electrical Trade Apprenticeship
  • ACS Commercial and Domestic Gas
  • Full driving licence essential for this role
  • Experience of BMS systems
  • Ability to understand pipework schematic drawings and follow to install as per drawings when available
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with and ability to install / commission a variety of manufacturers' boilers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven experience in a similar mobile commercial gas/heating engineering role

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary based on experience, paid overtime rate at 1.5 x, £150/week standby rate when on call, minimum 3-hour callout cost to out-of-hours calls, paid travel over 90 minutes, annual entitlement of 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays on joining (allocation increases to 25 days after completion of 1 year of service), company vehicle and fuel card, pension scheme, training and development support, mobile phone and tablet, uniform and PPE.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits
