We are partnering with a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Compliance Inspector Gas and Water on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: per Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize technical expertise to inspect, specify, and analyze repairs required for a wide range of defects, both domestic and commercial/industrial (including major defects).
  • Monitor and check repairs and maintenance work to ensure they are completed to the required standard within agreed timescales and to the satisfaction of residents and relevant Housing Services staff.
  • Maintain control of costs by specifying accurately and completely all the work necessary for the rectification of a defect. Agree any necessary unforeseen extras as promptly as possible.
  • Manage and monitor installation, service, and maintenance contracts to ensure compliance with the Council's requirements.
  • Provide technical support in disrepair and legal cases, ensuring that repairs are carried out on time and in line with agreed standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) Gas Certificates of Competence for domestic and commercial gas core elements and appliances.
  • Certificate of competence in plumbing NVQ or C&G level. Hold Water bylaws certification and unvented hot water systems or have extensive appropriate experience.
  • Sound previous experience of the installation, service, and maintenance of domestic and commercial heating and hot cold water building services, including potable cold water systems and communal cold water storage tanks.

Requirements:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the U.K.
