About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Learning Support Practitioner to join our team at York College. As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will provide educational support and care to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities across the College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, enabling them to access the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assist teaching staff by supporting students and guiding their learning, both in-class and out-of-class.
  • Help with mobility and personal care needs in College and on off-site visits.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education to Level 3 or above.
  • Skills in supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including those on the autistic spectrum, with emotional and/or behavioural issues, and with severe learning difficulties/disabilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ICT and assistive technology.
  • Flexibility, energy, and enthusiasm.
