We are seeking a highly experienced Risk Manager to join our team in London, focusing on rail projects across the south east of England. The successful candidate will implement and support an integrated risk management framework for a major capital programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize threats, opportunities, and issues within the sub-programme.
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling and timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity.
  • Inform investment planning using risk data.
  • Assist with identifying and recording management responses, measuring their effectiveness and assessing post-mitigated positions.
  • Monitor overall risk exposure and compare it against the remaining risk budget.

This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors to assess contractor-held risks and client-held risks that impact them. You will also produce risk reports as required to support effective communication of threat & opportunity status.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate capabilities such as qualitative and quantitative assessment of risk, working knowledge of an integrated risk management process (risk, cost, and schedule) on a large programme, risk workshop facilitation, threat mitigation, and opportunity exploitation. Experience in risk delivery roles on major projects/programmes is essential. APM/IRM risk certification is preferred.

Additionally, you should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be committed to finding new ways of working. A degree qualification in a construction-related subject is ideal.
