Product Owner Agile Hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Product Owner to join our team at Capita, a leading consulting, transformation, and digital services business.
As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the solutions and ensuring valuable products are created for the Royal Navy. You will coordinate the input from Educators, Curriculum Specialists, Training Designers, VLE specialists, infrastructure, technology, and synthetic training solutions to achieve our ambition to get better trained people to the frontline faster.
Key Responsibilities- Deputising for the Product Owner, providing day-to-day leadership and helping a multidisciplinary team deliver a coherent product aligned with the transformation vision for your assigned Training Delivery Unit (TDU).
- Motivating and inspiring teams to deliver exciting and achievable transformative solutions within training.
- Supporting acceleration through the Training Transformation process and delivering outcomes at pace via an Agile process.
- Ensuring all elements of Training Transformation meet the needs of the educators and trainees, producing transformed, learner-centric, and digitally enabled training.
- Establishing the priorities and areas of focus for training improvement with the Training Delivery Unit Product Owner and the Educators.
You will have intimate knowledge of training delivery in one of the following areas:
- Command Leadership and Management – People-Centred Leadership (CLM).
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
- Experience of managing projects from start to finish.
- Any experience of working in an Agile environment would be beneficial.
Capita is a wide-scale, 12-year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. We are looking for people with the talent and experience who can help shape better outcomes for our customers. We are using our expertise in digital transformation to review service design, modernise courses, and deploy cutting-edge technology to enhance courses, including synthetic training (simulator) systems and data analytics. This programme is a shared endeavour working alongside the Royal Navy's Training Management Group (TMG) as a single integrated team. Together, we will address challenges and collectively improve outcomes for sailors and marines at scale across the naval enterprise – something we are proud to be part of over the coming years.
We offer a competitive salary, negotiable depending on skills and experience up to £70,000, as well as a range of benefits, including 23 days' holiday (rising to 27), the opportunity to buy extra leave, company-matched pension, life assurance, a cycle-to-work scheme, 15 weeks' fully paid maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave, paternity pay of two weeks, and plenty more.
