About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Cleaning Operative to join our team at Tyneside Mail Centre. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the site is clean and safe for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the site
  • Operate a variety of cleaning equipment and machinery
  • Empty bins, dust and sanitise surfaces, and perform other cleaning tasks as required
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve cleaning objectives
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the facilities team

About You

We are looking for someone who is naturally friendly, with good written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, while complying with health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy cleaning equipment and supplies

What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £11.44, plus a range of benefits including 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years' service, plus bank holidays, uniform, PPE, employee referral scheme, and Defined Contribution pension scheme.
