Job Title: Service Driver Class 2

Job Purpose:

As a Service Driver, you will be responsible for the collection, destruction, movement, and unloading of confidential wastepaper and electronic storage devices on behalf of various customers within the professional, financial, and retail industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Arrive punctually and dressed in Shred-it uniform at the stated start time for your branch each day and clock-in.
  2. Check client allocation (routing) for the day's run of your assigned truck.
  3. Complete a conscientious circle-check of your assigned vehicle, using the circle checklist form.
  4. Obtain all necessary documentation for the day's operations.
  5. Leave the yard a maximum of 20 minutes from clock-in start time.
  6. Record the time of arrival on the handheld.
  7. Politely greet the client contact and record any changes of which they may advise you.
  8. Quietly and conscientiously remove the customer confidential material from premises while adhering to company security and safety policies.
  9. Give and explain the certificate of destruction to the client.
  10. Record the time shred was completed/material loaded on the truck.
  11. Unload or park the vehicle as per branch process.
  12. Attend a de-brief with CSS.

Requirements:

  • Valid LGV HGV C Category driving license.
  • Current drivers CPC.
  • Current digital tachograph.
  • Previous driving/customer-facing roles would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Conscientious with good attention to detail.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Flexible.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Reputable and trustworthy.
  • Previous experience in following security and safety processes.
  • Good spoken English language skills are required.
  • Ability to read and understand customer information sheets.
  • Ability to write clear messages on daily reporting sheets.
