Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary:
Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Learning Support Assistant to join our Ready2Learn team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pupils in learning activities under an agreed system of supervision, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support the supervision of the Ready2Learn room, monitoring pupil achievement, attendance, and behavior.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Provide individualized support to pupils with diverse needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
Requirements:
- At least one year of experience working with children of secondary age.
- NVQ Level 3 in Numeracy & Literacy or equivalent education or suitable relevant experience.
- Experience of working in a learning environment/school, with a focus on supporting vulnerable children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, adopting a flexible approach as required.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- A qualification or accredited training relating to work with children commensurate with the post.
- Experience of working with pupils to support improving behavior and social skills.
