Obstetrician Specialist

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Obstetrician Specialist to join their team in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. The ideal candidate will have experience in maternal medicine, including diabetic management of pregnant patients.

This full-time post includes sessions on Labour ward, including Obstetric on call and Antenatal clinics. With approximately 6000 deliveries and 9000 gynaecology admissions per annum, the unit provides a wide range of services.

The estimated salary for this role is £85,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. Essential qualifications include MRCOG or equivalent. Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is also required.

The successful candidate will be part of a strong team of 23 Consultant Obstetricians, Gynaecologists, and academic staff. They will be fully supported by a thriving department and encouraged to take forward service and academic development.

The Unit is the designated tertiary referral unit for the North East of Scotland. Successful candidates will have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
