Main Objective of the Position
The primary goal of this role is to provide comprehensive substance abuse counseling and case management services to clients struggling with addiction within the framework of the Maryland State's Drug Court, Detention Center, and Outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address clients' substance abuse disorders.
- Conduct regular counseling sessions to support clients in achieving and maintaining sobriety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families on addiction-related topics.
- Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Requirements
- Education: A degree in a relevant field, such as counseling, psychology, or social work, as determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
- Experience: Relevant experience in substance abuse counseling or a related field, as determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
- Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications: Certification by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug, and a valid motor vehicle operator's license in the State of Maryland.
- Special Requirements: Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations.
