Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Asset and Information Officer to join our team at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service. As a key member of our ICT Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Service's compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to ensure North Wales Fire and Rescue Service compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
- Set Information Governance standards, provide privacy by design support, and oversee the secure handling of personal and public data.
- Collaborate with key teams to mitigate risks and promote public trust, ensuring staff awareness of best practices and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Inform and advise North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority (NWFRA) and its employees about their obligations arising from relevant and emerging legislation and regulations in respect of data protection, including freedom of information and subject access requests.
- Develop and maintain the governance of the Service's information assets.
- Owning the information asset register and understanding the flow of information between the assets.
- Ensure that responses are provided within the statutory timescales, handling any FOI-related complaints in accordance with the relevant legislation, and acting as the point-of-contact between the supervisory authority and the Service in the event of any appeals to the ICO.
