Highways Project Director

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Highways Engineer to lead our team from a technical standpoint. The ideal candidate will have expertise in public realm project design, urban transport challenges, and detailed designs for highways.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior engineer who has experience mentoring junior engineers in public realm highways design. As a leading member of our team, you will be responsible for project leadership, client engagement, technical excellence, team mentorship, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Oversee the design of highways and public realm projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to industry standards.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Excellence: Develop technically sound design solutions for urban transport challenges, utilizing industry standards and best practices.
- Team Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of up to 6 people, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and development.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure rigorous quality control on all project deliverables, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Detailed Design Expertise: Proven ability to produce high-quality design documents, technical drawings, and plans for highways and public realm projects.
- Public Realm Design Skills: Strong understanding of spatial planning, user accessibility, and aesthetic considerations in urban spaces.
- Cycleway and Active Transport Infrastructure: Expertise in designing and implementing cycleways, pedestrian pathways, and other active transport infrastructure.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and solid understanding of design standards such as DMRB, Manual for Streets, and relevant guidance on sustainable urban mobility.
