Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Milton Keynes. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coach and Train Teams: Provide guidance and training to our teams on food safety and quality standards and requirements.
  2. Make Decisions and Determine Solutions: Make informed decisions and determine solution outcomes that assure product safety and quality in conjunction with line and area coordinators.
  3. Lead Food Safety and Quality Issues: Be the primary contact in the event of food safety and quality issues in the bakery areas.
  4. Manage Non-Conforming Material: Ensure that substandard material is not released to the customer.
  5. Conduct Audits and Inspections: Carry out Good Manufacturing Practice audits, Glass and Hard Plastic audits, and check manufacturing records as scheduled.
  6. Compile and Issue Reports: Compile and issue audit reports and summaries, with requirements for corrective and preventive actions as agreed.
  7. Verify and Calibrate Equipment: Verify and calibrate key equipment following the schedule.
  8. Carry Out Organoleptic Assessments: Carry out an organoleptic assessment of material as per schedules.
  9. Ensure Sampling and Testing: Ensure sampling of product, materials, and environment is carried out following the schedules, and sent to external laboratories.
  10. Train and Review Quality System Procedures: Train updated quality system procedures and product information to relevant teams and review competence on a periodic and ongoing basis.
  11. Investigate Customer Complaints: Investigate customer complaints and provide reports detailing root causes and actions taken.
  12. Conduct Traceability Audits: Conduct traceability audits and present them internally and to customers when required.
Requirements
  1. Good Literacy and Numeracy Skills: Possess good literacy and numeracy skills.
  2. Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Organized and Good Time Management: Show organized and good time management skills.
  4. Good Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills.
  5. Influencing Skills: Demonstrate influencing skills.
  6. Food Manufacturing Experience: Have food manufacturing experience, preferably in a Quality role.
  7. Level 2 HACCP and Level 3 Food Safety: Possess Level 2 HACCP and Level 3 Food Safety certifications.
  8. Basic Understanding of Customer Codes of Practice: Have a basic understanding of customer codes of practice (e.g. allergen, labeling and coding, and foreign body detection).
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Packages: Be proficient in Microsoft packages, especially Excel.
