We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Residential Care Manager to join our team at KC Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a children's care home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children in care.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading recruitment agency specializing in childcare placements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in children's residential care, including supervisory or managerial roles, and relevant qualifications in childcare, social work, or a related field.

The role involves managing junior staff, developing and implementing individual care plans tailored to each child's needs, fostering a supportive atmosphere that promotes emotional, physical, and educational development, and maintaining open communication with children, families, and external agencies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and support staff to create a positive team environment.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews.
  • Facilitate training and professional development for team members.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
  • Foster a supportive atmosphere that promotes emotional, physical, and educational development.
  • Maintain open communication with children, families, and external agencies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, social work, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management QCF).
  • Significant experience in children's residential care, including supervisory or managerial roles.
  • Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of children and staff.
