About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Specialist to join our team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Consultant Physician - Gastroenterology, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, developing subspecialty interests, and sharing responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Gastroenterology department.
Main Duties
Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of Gastroenterology patients.
Development of subspecialty interests and skills, supported as required by the department.
Sharing responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Gastroenterology department.
Teaching and training of medical students and post-graduate doctors.
Ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
Participating in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and Audit.
Attending meetings as appropriate.
Fulfilling duties of the weekly timetable.

Qualifications
GMC Registration with a license to Practice
GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT (or equivalent) at time of interview
MRCP
Desirable
Higher Degree e.g. MD or PhD
Experience
Teaching (Medical students, peers, MDT)
Experience of working within Gastroenterology
Experienced in Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance and the benefits of how this improves the quality of care provided to patients and ensuring this is embedded in clinical practice
Delivery in therapeutic and diagnostic colonoscopy
Desirable
Train the trainers course
