Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Northgate Medical Practice. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals in the provision of patient care, including health checks, urine sampling, blood pressure measurements, and ECG recordings.
  • Conduct phlebotomy, wound care, and removal of sutures under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals.
  • Administer B12 injections and flu vaccinations as required.
  • Support the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, including the preparation and disposal of medical waste.
  • Assist in the collection and collation of data on patient needs and health outcomes.
  • Participate in health and safety initiatives, including the promotion of infection control and the reporting of hazards.
  • Contribute to the production of performance and quality information, including the maintenance of accurate records and the support of clinical audit.
  • Support the implementation of services, including the application of practice policies and standards, and the participation in audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a nursing team or a similar healthcare setting.
  • Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients and their families.
  • Qualifications in Health and Social Care, preferably at NVQ level 2 or above.
  • Phlebotomy qualifications desirable.
