Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Vacancies. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of quality learning and teaching to our students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Working under the direction of teaching staff and senior managers to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Supporting children and young people with a range of significant and complex special educational needs, including autism, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech, language, and communication needs, and those who exhibit challenging behavior.
  • Undertaking specified work with individuals, groups, and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.
  • Encouraging the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school and enabling pupils to become more independent learners.
  • Undertaking work, care, and support programs to enable access to learning for pupils and assisting the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
