**Job Summary**

As the Director of Human Resources at NALA, you will serve as the externally facing representative for HR, ensuring that all schools in the Trust receive excellent, efficient, and effective HR support. This role requires a strong business partner and coach who can build positive relationships with senior managers to develop an understanding of the importance of good HR practice and leadership.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Advise Trust and School leaders on compliance and risk management issues, ensuring that the Trust operates within statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Lead and develop the HR team members, deploying them effectively to deliver an efficient, effective, and professional HR service to Academies.
  • Develop and maintain all HR-related policies and procedures, systems, and processes, underpinned by statutory compliance and best practice.
  • Report on HR KPIs to the Staffing, Operational & Management Committee, providing insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Create and implement the HR action plan, driving business outcomes and improving HR service delivery.
  • Develop and implement a recruitment and retention strategy for the Trust, attracting, fostering, and keeping exceptional employees in all positions.
  • Ensure that the Trust complies with the requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty, promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Develop effective professional working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including colleagues, educational advisory boards, trustees, trade union representatives, and external agents.
  • Oversee investigations and complex employee relations issues, including redundancy and grievance, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.

  • Proven experience in HR leadership, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality HR services.
  • Excellent business acumen, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior managers and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and inform strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
