Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist to join our Laboratory Medicine team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory results, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

* Undertake day-to-day analysis and validation of laboratory results, ensuring quality and accuracy

* Participate in out-of-hours shifts, once trained and competent in relevant areas

* Contribute to the monitoring of quality indicators and implementation of quality control/assurance procedures

* Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment

* Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations

* Participate in continuing professional development to maintain and enhance specialist knowledge

Requirements

* BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification

* State registration as a Biomedical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

* Postgraduate or post-registration training in a specialist area, leading to a completed specialist portfolio or working towards

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changes in working practice

* Ability to develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment, as well as quality control/assurance procedures
