We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our friendly, dynamic team as a Pharmacy Technician. This unique opportunity involves supporting the Lead Specialist Pharmacy Technicians (Medicines Management) in developing and maintaining medicines management services at ward level.

The post holder will be responsible for assessing patients' own drugs, medicines reconciliation, original pack dispensing, counselling patients about their medicines, and co-ordinating supply of discharge medicines, including dispensing TTAs on the wards. They will also support the induction and training of ward-based technicians ATOs, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, and trainee pharmacists.

The ideal candidate will hold the NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, be a registered GPhC professional, and have achieved the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification. Excellent communication skills, both individually and as part of a large team, are essential.

The salary for this position is approximately £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assess patients' own drugs and provide original pack dispensing services
  2. Support the Lead Specialist Pharmacy Technicians (Medicines Management) in developing and maintaining medicines management services
  3. Co-ordinate supply of discharge medicines, including dispensing TTAs on the wards
  4. Provide training and support for ward-based technicians ATOs, pre-registration pharmacy technicians, and trainee pharmacists

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification
  • Excellent communication skills, both individually and as part of a large team
