Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Briggs Equipment Ltd is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for attending customer locations to determine the scope of work required, assessing and agreeing with the end user on work priorities, and ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend customer locations to determine the scope of work required and assess and agree with the end user on work priorities.
  • Liaise with the controller and customer on the range of expected work, providing clarity and understanding on likely timescales and associated costs.
  • Identify the root cause of a breakdown in a timely manner and ensure the correct parts are obtained in the most cost-effective way.
  • Ensure all work complies with engineering standards and Briggs/manufacturer specification/tolerances.
  • Carry out inspection/checks on own work as it proceeds and ensure that the equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer.
  • Identify any further work required on a machine and ensure the customer is made aware of the fact, especially where a cost to the customer is to be incurred.
  • Complete all related job and service documentation correctly, with necessary signatures/documents obtained from the customer.
Requirements:
  • Relevant technical qualification.
  • Previous experience within a similar role.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical principles.
  • The ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise workload.
  • Understanding customer needs.
What We Offer:
  • A base salary up to £36,209 pa based on a 40 hour working week.
  • Additional pay increase signed off for July 2024.
  • Overtime is payable at x1.5 Monday – Saturday and x2 on Sunday.
