About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our team at ICF. As a key member of our environmental consultancy services, you will play a crucial role in coordinating proposals and projects from inception to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, including budget development and contract review, management of quality, risk management, budget control, performance review / client feedback, and client liaison throughout project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the management of projects, ensuring all financial, contractual, and other obligations are achieved in accordance with the agreed terms of reference and in accordance with ICF's quality standards.
  • Build effective relationships with clients and ICF subcontractors to ensure delivery of high-quality projects that meet client needs, on time and within budget.
  • Analyze and interpret data to inform project decisions and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including project teams, business development, and operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in project delivery.
Requirements
  • Strong project management and commercial skills and expertise in business or programme leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple small to mid-sized projects on a large framework.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience of project and bid management in a consulting or similar project-based environment.
  • Experience of working in the environmental, natural sciences, or social sciences/policy sectors.
  • Experience of consulting for UK government clients (e.g. Defra, Natural England, MMO, Environment Agency, FCDO, DESNZ).
