About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Refuse and Recycling Operations Specialist to join our team in Carmarthenshire. This is a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension or permanence at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive and maintain allocated collection vehicles, adhering to daily vehicle checks and routine maintenance procedures.
  • Safely steer vehicles and ensure compliance with road safety regulations, minimizing risk to crew members and the public.
  • Supervise the Refuse/Recycling crew, providing direct instruction and guidance during all activities and around designated routes.
  • Resolve difficulties arising from issues such as parked vehicles, obstructions, communal collection points, and illicit tipping, ensuring efficient refuse/recycling collection and reducing Health and Safety risks.
  • Assist the crew in loading relevant Refuse/Recycling containers at required times, complying with divisional and services requirements.
Requirements:
  • Hold a minimum large goods vehicle licence Category C.
  • Be willing to undergo ongoing job-related training and adhere to new information and instructions.
  • Possess experience operating power mechanisms and various plant/machinery.
Working Conditions:
  • You should be available for immediate or short-notice work.
  • You must have the right to work in the U.K.
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS.
