Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Upholstery Craftsperson to join our team at The Work Shop Resourcing Ltd. In this role, you will work closely with our team of experts to deliver high-quality upholstery services to our customers.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Work collaboratively with the Upholstery Workshop Supervisor to achieve project goals.
  2. Measure and cut fabric or leather pieces accurately using patterns or stencils and industrial cutting tools.
  3. Install batting, foam, poly-filler, and cut fabric to wooden framework in the assembly of hand-crafted furniture.
  4. Operate various types of equipment, including portable hand-sewing equipment, nail guns, and hot-knife cutters.
  5. Suggest solutions to complications or assembly slow-downs with the supervisor's guidance.
  6. Sew upholstery manually or use sewing machines to seam cushions and join fabric ends.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in upholstery.
  8. Inspect furniture frames, springs, and webbings for defects.
  9. Build or repair upholstered furniture using various hand or power tools.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in upholstery is advantageous.
  • Strong creative skills and physical stamina required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required.
Salary and Benefits:

As an Upholstery Craftsperson, you can expect a competitive salary of £15 - £18 per hour (DOE) (£33,150 - £39,780 per annum), plus excellent company benefits.
