Lift Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team at Schindler Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lift and escalator equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of lift and escalator equipment, including minor repairs and replacement of components.
- Rectify and reduce faults on lift and escalator equipment in cases of breakdown, and check to confirm correct functioning.
- Conduct thorough inspections and checks of lift and escalator equipment, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies.
- Carry out routine inspection and adjustment of lift and escalator equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
- Reinstate lift and escalator equipment and complete service documentation.
- Perform advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals, and appropriate test equipment.
- Carry out site surveys and attend relevant training sessions to stay up-to-date on technical knowledge and skills.
- Work in accordance with the Company's Safety and Environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
- Contribute to the Company's safety objectives by maintaining and monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes to the safety management system.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in lift and escalator servicing, maintenance, and repairs.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift and escalator maintenance or equivalent.
- Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
- Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, and within efficiencies.
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
- Good communication skills at different levels (client, service leader, inspectors).
- Manual dexterity - requires the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting, use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools, and to record written information.
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good administration skills and punctuality.
- Full UK driving license.
