About the Opportunity

Sarto Thomas Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Associate or Associate Director to play a leading role in their Civil Engineering Team in the Hook office.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop the existing highways and infrastructure section with the support of the Directors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake strategic development planning and detailed design work, providing highways, drainage, and development infrastructure advice to private sector clients and supporting key local authority clients.
  • Lead and coordinate detailed design and implement projects during the construction phase, ensuring robust project delivery and strong knowledge of financial and contractual aspects.
  • Manage project resources, delegate tasks, and mentor junior staff, while supporting the wider team's financial and commercial management.
  • Liaise with highways, water, statutory, and local authorities to negotiate outline and technical approvals, and have a proven record in client care and business development.
  • Have relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Chartered status, and at least 8 years of relevant experience, with knowledge of legal processes, planning, design, design software, and technical consents.
  • Direct and check the use of relevant software, such as MicroDrainage and AutoCAD, and have experience or interest in PDS to supervise junior colleagues.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering and Chartered status.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in highways, drainage, and development infrastructure advice.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering projects.
  • Proven record in client care and business development.
  • Ability to direct and check the use of relevant software.
