Job Opportunity

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a locum Team Lawyer to oversee their People function.

Specialist experience within Adult Social Care Law is a desirable criteria.

The position requires a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with Local Government Experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee a team, covering areas of law to include Children's Social Care, Adult Social Care, Health and Housing.
  • Carry own caseload of complex matters, ideally within Adult Social Care.
  • Advising on, preparing and conducting proceedings, acting as an advocate for the Council and Court, tribunals, inquiries and other statutory or legislative hearings.
  • Responsible for supervision and mentoring of junior staff across the division.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.
  • Local Government Experience.
Working Arrangements:
  • 37 hours per week.
  • Monday – Friday.
