We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Flood Risk Modeller to join our team. As a key member of our Flooding and Water Management Team, you will play a crucial role in promoting the sustainable management of water resources, protecting the water environment, and making people and places safer and more resilient to flood risk and climate change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects, working within agreed deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance, and control strategy.
  • Provide technical direction to the team's modellers and be responsible for the quality of flood risk modelling deliverables.
  • Act as a mentor for team members, supporting their development, providing technical guidance, and supervising their deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in hydraulic modelling applied to a range of projects.
  • Good technical understanding of UK hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Knowledge and experience of standard hydraulic modelling packages, such as Innovyze ICM, Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, or SRH2D.
  • Chartered status from an appropriate institution (C.Eng or C.WEM).
  • MSc/MEng and/or PhD focused on hydrology, hydraulic modelling, water resources, or other applied environmental science subject.
